Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Intern to join our Cyber team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with internal business units and external business partners on a variety of cybersecurity tasks to support the global enterprise. Tasks will include working within a variety of disciplines to identify and manage risk, implement process and controls, contribute in the reporting to tactical teams as well as to IT and business leadership, support existing and/or the implementation of new security tools, while learning about business and industry risks and risk mitigations.

Responsibilities:

The intern will work closely with members of the Cybersecurity team on a variety of tasks, examples of which may include:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Gather/document information and develop presentations.

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to understand, analyze, and corelate large data sets.

  • Be an established team member who independently operates to achieve business objectives.

  • Work closely with internal technical teams and external vendors on development of discovery patterns.

  • Support efforts to implement and maintain security processes and controls in areas such as the company network, cloud environment, data management, or other areas as assigned.

  • Collaborate with various internal business units and external vendors on the discovery of external assets.

  • Work with cyber team on various tasks learning about cyber tools, analyzing security events and responding to them.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Cybersecurity or IT focus. Or,

  • Enrolled in 2 year technical college, or participating in an IT training program (such as i.c.stars) with a Cybersecurity or IT focus.

Knowledge/ Skills / Abilities

  • Comfortable with working with large data sets to analyze and corelate them.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to learn how to operate new technologies/tools to identify, report, and manage Cybersecurity risks and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Familiarity with common cybersecurity frameworks, concepts, and tools.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
