Technical and Project Engineering LLC (TAPE) Book Personalization Associate 1 (General Clerk) in Tucson, Arizona

JOB SUMMARY

The Book Personalization Associate performs various clerical and repetitive manual functions under direct supervision in the processing of passports for the State Department.

SHIFTS

Morning (6:30 am to 2:30 pm) or Afternoon (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operate card and Consolidate Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) personalization printing equipment.

  • Conduct quality control checks of printed travel documents and identify manufacturer flaws in travel document products.

  • Understand and comply with all internal control regulations for the Book Facility as outlined in the Internal Controls Guidelines and immediately report any internal control concerns.

  • Follow approved document sequencing procedures for Travel Document Print and Quality Control.

  • Travel Document Print (CRBA):

  • Maintaining control and accountability of all travel documents received and returned.

  • Inspecting printed travel documents for errors and quality.

  • Verifying individual travel document usage report.

  • Filling out and maintaining travel document tracking sheets or other reports.

  • Operating computer equipment.

  • Travel Document Quality Control:

  • Using travel document issuance software, Department of State specified software, and computer operating systems to include, but not limited to, retrieval of application information, data entry, and generation of mailing labels.

  • Maintaining control and accountability of product.

  • Removing or rejecting applications and travel documents with errors.

  • Inspecting printed travel documents for errors and quality.

  • Verifying individual travel document usage report.

  • Filling out and maintaining travel document tracking sheets or other reports.

  • Performing data entry function and use the computer screen to verify data accuracy.

  • Generating address labels and attaching them to envelopes and place sealed envelopes into postal or other courier trays.

  • Participating and assisting within each department as required by workload.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Two (2) years of office or clerical experience required.

  • US Citizenship and the ability to pass a background check required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government agency Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Must be able to grasp basic knowledge of current travel document issuance software and related procedures.

  • Must be able to conduct Quality Control checks of the printed passport and follow a pre-set pattern for document sequencing.

  • Basic computer/data entry skills.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

  • Capability of analyzing data and drawing sound conclusions.

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced and goal-oriented environment.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Must be dependable and reliable.

Good hand to eye coordination will be required. Capable of doing repetitive tasks such as lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, filing and reading The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
