The 30-bed medical surgical unit and eight-bed progressive care unit equips nurses with fundamental critical care experience in mechanical ventilation, while providing a solid nursing foundation focused on safe patient outcomes. Nursing staff collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of specialty physicians, pharmacists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, case managers and social workers to deliver patient-centered care.

Average length of stay is four days on the wings and nine days in pulmonary acute care. Diagnosis in the pulmonary population ranges from pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure and pulmonary embolism to complex cases requiring nursing skills for oxygen therapy, intravenous medications, chest tubes, tracheostomies, postoperative care, noninvasive ventilation, mechanical ventilation and cardiac monitoring.
