Purpose of Job

Human Longevity, Inc. is seeking an inspired, intellectually curious, and mission driven Cardiac Sonographer to be an integral part of the Longevity Care Team.  This individual will provide domain expertise in cardiac imaging – using existing and novel technologies. As part of the multidisciplinary team, this individual will also provide empathic, personalized care to Clients throughout their experience – including a warm welcome, supportive clinical care for the duration of the evaluation, and ensure an unparalleled care experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • The Cardiac Sonographer will perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures of the cardiovascular system for diagnosis and treatment.

  • Applies ECG electrodes to patient's chest ensuring a “readable” positive signal. Monitors and notes ectopy and arrhythmias.  

  • Maintain detailed record of patient examinations.

  • Responsible for performing echocardiograms, two–dimensional and M–Mode with color flow Doppler and Doppler Echocardiography.

  • Performs Stress Echocardiograms.

  • Carotid Doppler exams and will be trained (if needed) in Segmental Pressures exams.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and other medical professionals.

  • Assist patients on and off the exam tables.

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential and following HIPAA practices.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications (Must have)

  • Graduate from a two (2) year accredited ultrasound or echocardiography school.

  • Successful completion of a course of study leading to certification as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).

  • Possession of a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential is very highly desirable. 

  • Current CPR or BLS for Healthcare Providers certificate by start date.

  • At least two (2) years of experience as a sonographer. Sonographer must be proficient in stress echocardiography as well as resting studies.

  • Skill and ability to operate cardiac ultrasound equipment.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Proficient with MS Office.

  • Excellent communication and customer service oriented.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to assist patients in their care and testing.

  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and customers.

  • Ability to work well with teams in an open environment.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment to effectively solve problems.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

    Preferred Qualifications  

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential.

  • Customer focused to provide a high level of care and a positive experience.

  • Dynamic individual with the ability to communicate and engage others.

  • Open to learning new things and taking on new challenges.

    Working Conditions

  • Open clinical environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending and kneeling

  • Must be able to lift and transport at least 25 pounds
