Robert Half Audit Sr. - Public in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Description We are offering a role in Saint Paul, Minnesota for a diligent and meticulous individual to join our team as an Audit Senior in the public sector. This role involves executing audit engagements, understanding and utilizing audit methodologies, and supervising team members' work.

Responsibilities:

• Work independently with a strong understanding of GAAS to execute assigned audit engagement file organization and documentation

• Contribute positively to a team environment, assisting colleagues and communicating effectively with clients, staff, managers, and partners

• Assist in the assessment of audit risk, planning, and design of audit procedures

• Review and perform substantive testing on client’s balance sheets and income statements

• Gain an understanding and assessment of client’s internal controls and make recommendations for improvement through the risk assessment process

• Supervise, delegate tasks to, and review work of team members to assist in their development

• Audit complex areas and transactions and prepare all client deliverable reports

• Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to Managers and Partners

• Participate in firm-wide initiatives, including recruitment

• Ensure professional development through active continuing professional education.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions

• Experience in Audit Engagements

• Knowledge of Auditing and Audit Plans

• Experience as an Audit Senior Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in accounting functions is required

• Demonstrated experience in conducting audit engagements

• Must have a strong understanding of auditing principles and procedures

• Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing audit plans

• Previous experience as an Audit Senior is preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Must have a proactive approach and the ability to work independently

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Professional certification such as CPA is preferred

• Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy is required.
