GENERAL PURPOSE:

Experienced ECG Technician playing a pivotal role in the execution of clinical studies and trials by conducting precise ECG reviews and annotations. This position requires expertise in ECG data management, training of junior staff members, and oversight of logistical operations related to ECG activities.

  • Conduct thorough reviews and precise annotations of ECG data collected during clinical studies and trials.

  • Ensure compliance with protocol-specific guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for ECG data collection and analysis.

  • Promptly identify and report any anomalies or irregularities in ECG recordings.

  • Manage ECG data effectively, including organization, storage, and maintenance of databases in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with the data management team to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of ECG data.

  • Provide comprehensive training and mentorship to junior staff members on ECG procedures, techniques, and data analysis.

  • Develop training materials and resources to facilitate the onboarding and professional development of new team members.

  • Coordinate logistical aspects of ECG operations, including equipment maintenance, and inventory management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the processing, analysis, and reporting of standard ECG and Holter and other ambulatory ECG recordings. This requires familiarity with technological concepts associated with commercial Holter annotation systems and other commercial ECG-based products.

  • Assists in the coordination, preparation, processing, and management of scientific data generated by specialized ECG programs from the commercial and research arenas from local and off-site data management systems; as well as modification of those methodological approaches as appropriate using pre-specified study operating procedures.

  • Recruits, screens, consents, and enrolls subjects. Performs record reviews for local research studies primarily focused on electrocardiographic data collection. Reviews medical chart history to verify inclusion criteria are being met. Performs procedures as required by protocol (performing electrocardiograms and Holter recordings, while observing electrophysiology, etc.). Creates patient instructions and schedules for patient appointments.

  • Prepares reports and assists with operating procedures documentation related to ongoing studies including data quality control procedures. Demonstrates and maintains professional proficiency and competency in cardiac arrhythmia recognition and classification.

  • Maintains the inventory of all ECL hardware as well as the storage, testing, shipment, receipt, and maintenance of ECG Core Laboratory equipment and supplies.

  • Coordinate logistical aspects of ECG operations, including equipment maintenance, and inventory management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent with courses and/or technical training in electrocardiography or cardiac rhythm interpretation, and at least 4-5 years’ experience in electrocardiographic monitoring or related technical work environment

  • or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Applicant must have technical training and a minimum 1-year specialized experience in related field

  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of PC-based analysis programs helpful including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Experience in using knowledge of cloud storage environments such as BOX and Dropbox, collaborative work environments such as Google Drive, and basic familiarity with REDCap and other clinical trial electronic acquisition systems.

  • Previous experience with clinical research studies (including FDA-regulated) as well as previous communication experience with research sponsors, enrolling site personnel and patients is desirable.

  • Applicants must be able to work independently and meet individual and team deadlines.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $18.89 - 25.51 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
