ASRC Federal Holding Company HR Assistant / HR Shared Services Specialist in RESTON, Virginia

ASRC Federal is seeking an HR Assistant to join our team in Reston, VA.

The HR Assistant serves as Tier 1 HR support for employee, manager, alumni, and external resources questions related to employment, benefits, new hire orientation, I-9 process, and HR policy interpretation. Works under the direction of the Manager, HR Shared Services to ensure HR service and delivery is consistent and timely. The incumbent also works with the HR Business Partners, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development teams, as well as other departments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to both email and telephone inquiries, resolving questions or issues by accessing information in all systems that support employee data

  • Support and process transactions as needed by gathering information from HRBPs, employees, and managers

  • Perform data entry, filing, and sending requested documents or further correspondence

  • Help employees and managers navigate HR self-service resources and tools

  • Oversee and adhere to employee HR files and/or personnel file requirements in alignment with HR policies

  • Documents all emails, calls, and walk-ups in real-time within the HR Service Services (HRSS) case management software application

  • Serve as an escalation point on complex cases as needed to ensure proper understanding and execution of HRSS activities, etc.

  • Engage with the appropriate stakeholders for the resolution of complex cases

  • Maintain working knowledge of HR processes to answer customers’ questions

  • Identify opportunities for improvement or absence of information in HRIS system and work to correct

  • Build and manage knowledgebase content in HRSS case management software application

  • Proactively identify opportunities for processes, policies, and procedures improvements. Engage and collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders across HR & other function (e.g., HRBPs, CoEs, Payroll, IT, etc.) to drive the appropriate agreed changes

  • Provide immediate, timely, efficient support to HR Business Partners and other HR resources during compliance audits by retrieving files, reviewing information to coordinate historical records, and compiling necessary documentation

  • Manage edits as needed in HRIS upon receiving request and approval from managers, directors, and HR Business Partners

  • Focus on confidentiality and maintaining personal data privacy is essential for all work assignments

  • Identify areas of improvement and design solutions with a focus on employee experience

  • Perform special projects as assigned

  • Seek out opportunities to automate and enhance operations to be more efficient, while keeping employee experience as the utmost priority

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline

  • 3+ years’ HR experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred with emphasis on HR operations/shared services and process, data entry/audit

  • ServiceNow experience is preferred

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong attention to detail for data integrity management

  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office; Advanced proficiency preferred
