THE POSITION

Join the Event and Traffic Safety team at the PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center with the Department of Agriculture. Assist in running the unique Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg on a 24-acre property. Apply now if you thrive in a dynamic and thrilling work setting!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for performing the security duties necessary for the protection of those in attendance at the Farm Show Complex, as well as Commonwealth personnel and property. Duties include directing traffic, collecting parking fees, greeting and assisting visitors, and patrolling the Complex and parking areas during the busy show season.

Positions are temporary, part-time without benefits, and located at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg. Security Officer positions are called to work on an as-needed basis, year-round. Farm Show Security operates on a 24-hour schedule so shifts and hours will vary, which may include holidays and weekends. This position is considered essential and as such is required to report to working during emergencies and office closings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Positions are temporary, part-time without benefits, and located at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg.

  • Shift hours vary due to meeting business need.

  • No specific shift is assigned. All guards are on an "on-call" basis. On-call guards are used to meet the event needs held at the facility.

  • Weekends and holidays may be required.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
