Fairview Health Services Registered Polysomnographic Technologist in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist to be based out of our Riverside Sleep Clinic in Minneapolis, MN! This position is approved for 72 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible. Pay for this role starts at $34.21 and increases based on experience.

The Sleep Clinic at Fairview are education destination because of our M Health partnership, so we have fellows and students from the MCTC program. This is a multidisciplinary clinic covering all aspects of sleep; Obstructive Sleep Apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and more.

Responsibilities Job Description

A RPT performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis and valuate overnight polysomnograms. They will operate medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. The RPT will apply recording devices, cleans/sterilizes equipment, and monitors polysomnograms. The Tech will also evaluate care and patients' response to interventions.

  • Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient information to identify and meet the patient’s specific needs, and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory.

  • Performs routine and sophisticated equipment care and maintenance.

  • Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning

  • Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient

  • Evaluates sleep study related equipment and inventory.

  • Performs Polysomnographic Record Scoring.

  • Performs advanced Polysomnography procedures including Polysomnographic Record Scoring

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in health sciences field or actively enrolled in Polysomnography training program with completion date within 12 months of hire date

  • 1 year experience working in a healthcare environment

  • BCLS

  • RPSGT or successfully complete board registry within 365 days of hire

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a health science, with emphasis on Polysomnography.

  • 2 or more years of direct patient care experience in a Sleep Center

  • RPSGT + CRT or RRT or REEGT
