Responsibilities

Are you looking for flexibility? We have an immediate opening for an experienced, professional Pathologist’s Assistant , who performs gross examination, description, and sectioning of surgical specimens, assists with or performs dissection and gross description of autopsies and possesses computer skills to accession specimens to work as needed.

WellStar’s laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathology (CAP) and the laboratory’s highly trained pathologists are board certified in both branches of pathology (anatomical and clinical). Analyses performed by the pathologists in WellStar’s labs are vital to ensuring our patients get well, live well and stay well.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: Baccalaureate or Masters Degree in certified Pathologist's Assistant program Required Minimum Experience: Minimum three years' of broad experience as a Pathologist's Assistant is preferred (if trained in a large healthcare facility).

Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: Certification or eligible for certification by American Association of Pathologist Assistants (AAPA)
