The Manager of Clinical Nutrition at Kennestone Regional Medical Center manages the clinical nutrition team in order to provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy; manages labor, resources, and functions within budget, ensures compliance with regulatory standards; conducts quality improvement projects to improve processes; participates in reviewing and creating policies and procedures related to clinical nutrition care; assesses and trains team members to enhance patient experience skills and positively impact patient satisfaction; coordinates with multidisciplinary leaders to identify or improve collaborative processes to positively impact nutrition care to patients; reviews competencies and performance of direct reports; effectively addresses human resources and patient related concerns; interviews, hires and trains direct reports when vacancies arise; stays abreast of current best practices and incorporates these practices into approved protocols; coordinates continued learning opportunities for team; oversees Dietetic Interns and coordination of preceptor opportunities with team; collaborates with One WellStar Clinical Nutrition Leaders to reach consensus decisions impacting clinical nutrition care.
Required Minimum Education : Master’s Degree in Nutrition or a related field
Required Minimum Certification : Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and State Licensure by the Georgia Secretary of State; ServSafe certification preferred or within first six months of employment
Required Minimum Experience : Five years of experience as a Clinical Dietitian; 2 years of Lead Dietitian or Management experience preferred; Specialization certification from an accredited institution in nutrition related field preferred; experience with nutrition service software, therapeutic diet preparation, and patient menus preferred
Required Minimum Skills :
➢ Must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language.
➢ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) software and has the ability to learn new software products like nutrition service software and electronic health record.
➢ Strong communication skills; able to adjust message to the needs of the audience as well as communicate with others within and outside of the job function.
➢ Capable of preparing and providing presentations.
➢ Ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise and initiate timely solutions.
➢ Maintains effective relationships with other leaders, multidisciplinary team members, direct reports, and patients.
➢ Stays current with nutrition related evidence-based practice and communicates information to staff.
➢ Able to collaborate with patient meal services leader on patient menu, diet order restriction, and allergy needs.
➢ Ability to manage a small to mid-sized team with varying levels of experienced professionals.
➢ Requires practical knowledge to lead and manage the execution of processes, projects, and tactics related to clinical nutrition.
➢ Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements to processes or systems to enhance performance in job area.
