Covenant Health RN - Float Pool Acute Care in Lewiston, Maine

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit. As a member of the float pool, the right candidate must be willing and able to help in whichever area that there is a need. Employee could float to Orthopedic, Cardiac Telemetry, ICU, Emergency Department, Day Surgery, Ob/Gyn or Behavioral Units. They will be responsible for assessing patients upon admission, throughout stay and prior to discharge. They will be required to administer IV medications, IV therapy, blood and its components according to established clinical standards and policies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Valid State of Maine RN license

  • BLS certification required, ACLS preferred

  • ACLS preferable

    Experience:

  • 1 year of recent acute care experience is required or at least one year of current experience on a skilled unit

    Other Skills Required:

  • Flexibility required to provide 24 hours/day coverage, 7 days per week. Will float to multiple units as needed

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required

  • Responsible, supportive team player

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure
