Administrative Assistant/Office Manager

$21-$25/hr - Hourly Rate depending on experience and Adjustment Available at 30/60/90 Days.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide administrative support to the Plant Manager and other plant personnel.

*Payroll & HR experience required

Requirements

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Verify weekly timecards and calculate hours for time worked, absent, on vacation, bonuses, etc. and forward to corporate payroll department.

  • Assist in all aspects of recruiting, hiring and onboarding plant personnel as directed by Plant Manager, including obtaining all necessary documentation from new employees; explaining payroll procedures; and maintaining employee files.

  • Contact workers compensation contact at corporate office immediately upon any injury.

  • File and maintain record management.

  • Answer phones, take messages, convey information and handle issues as authorized.

  • Assist with data entry to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Order and/or pick-up office supplies.

  • Operate office machines and arrange for repairs when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years general office experience, including use of office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel and be able to learn how to use other company software programs.

  • Lumber industry and/or shipping & receiving a plus, but not necessary.

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Must be able to work independently and as a team-player.

  • Perform several tasks at once and deal with interruptions with ease and professionalism.

  • Remain patient and calm under stress.

  • Be organized and attentive to detail.

  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees, truck drivers, vendors and customers.

  • Be able to generally sit, stand, bend, and walk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

General plant facility working conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an indoor and partial outdoor manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and requires the use of hearing protection. The employee is required to wear PPE when in the plant area. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
