Key Responsibilities

[1. Inspects vehicles and line equipment as part of the preventive maintenance program. [2. Identifies problems with vehicles and equipment and makes the necessary mechanical repairs. [3. Performs diagnosis and repairs to hydraulic and electronic systems as directed. [4. Rebuilds and replaces engines, drive trains, and equipment as directed. [5. Tunes engines as directed. [6. Performs welding and fabrication as necessary: safely operating gas and arc welding equipment. [7. Performs service work on all vehicles such as changing oil, lubrication, tire work, brake repair, etc. [8. Makes road service calls when necessary. [9. Performs major maintenance rebuilds, remounts and re-certifications on bucket trucks and line trucks as directed. [10. Performs annual DOT truck inspections providing required documentation for files and vehicles. [11. Checks for presence of all necessary parts and materials before beginning rebuild work, giving list of missing parts and material to supervisor for timely requisition. [12. Performs complete operational testing of vehicles and equipment complying with all company safety standards and manufacturer's instructions before completion. [13. Prepares written record of all maintenance and repairs performed, carefully completing time sheets, service order forms, and any other document required to properly record work. [14. Maintains personal tools as required. [15. Maintains a neat and orderly work area. [16. Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

High school Diploma or GED.

Requires five years experience in vehicle maintenance and mechanic work, or three years as a Mechanic I at GreyStone Power.
