Glens Falls Hospital Registered Nurse (RN) - Hematology/Oncology Clinic (Flexible Scheduling Options for Per-Diem Positions, Shift-Differentials) in Glens Falls, New York

Hematology/Oncology Clinic Description: Hospital based outpatient department, office type setting, that provides care for adult patients with benign and malignant hematology disorders and cancer diagnosis. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM. The Cancer Center cares for patients who are 18 years of age and older and range from newly diagnosed, on active treatment to survivorship and hospice care. Clinical research and genetic counseling services are also provided. Nurses work in collaboration with the 10 Heme/Onc Providers to care for patients. Responsibilities include rooming patients, performing physical assessments, providing patient education and support related to treatment and symptom management, and care coordination. Position Summary: RN – Hematology Oncology Outpatient The Registered Nurse is accountable for management and delivery of patient care to assigned patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and within the scope of practice delineated in the New York State Nurse Practice Act. Earn Wellness Dollars per year to use towards GFH medical services Responsibilities: * Provides direct patient care Delegates/assigns responsibility as appropriate to others Serves as leader of the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with and under the direction of the attending physician. Focuses on completion of the nursing process including patient/family education and discharge planning. Understands and acts appropriately to ensure optimum use of all resources. *Qualifications: One year of medical-surgical or acute care/hospital nursing experience required. Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred; new hires will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of hire. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
