Job Overview

Performs a spectrum of ultrasound procedures on patients to include general, gynecological, vascular and pediatric specific exams; provides conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards; and performs administrative duties (such as scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records). Responsible for evaluating and monitoring the quality of all ultrasound procedures and provides day-to-day direction to other ultrasound technologists and students in all aspects of care and imaging to expedite patient flow through the Radiology department.

Department Name: CSH Ultrasound Job Status: Full time, 40 hours per week. Shift: Mon-Thursday 0530a-1700 or 0800a-1830. No call. Holidays required.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
  • EXPERIENCE - Three (3) years of experience
  • CERTIFICATION(S) - ARDMS certification Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) specialty and Registered Vascular Technologist (VT); Pediatric Sonography specialty within one year; American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer

Preferred: Previous pediatric experience

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE * Neonate- 30 days to 1 yr. * Toddlers- > 1 yr. to 3 yrs. * Pre-schoolers- > 3 yrs. to 5 yrs. * School age-> 5 yrs. to 13 yrs. * Adolescent- >13 yrs. to 18 yrs. * Adult- >18 yrs. to 65 yrs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform. 1. Oversees radiographic images and monitors quality for all iagnostic radiographic procedures. 2. Facilitates patient flow on a daily basis. 3. Independently produces high quality ultrasound images that are evaluated and scored by the modality supervisor. 4.
