Location: DDC-UC Health Hoxworth Department: Physical Therapy Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week Shift: First Rehabilitaion Aide, Full-Time, First Shift, UC Health Hoxworth UC Health is hiring a full-time Rehab Aide for the Physical Therapy department for the first shift at UC Health Hoxworth. The Rehabilitation Aide provides non-skilled assistance in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a licensed physical therapist/occupational therapist/speech therapist/recreational therapist. This includes general cleanliness and maintenance of therapy equipment and treatment areas, and assistance with clerical duties as indicated.Educations:

  • Minimum Required: High School Education. | Certified in CPR.

Engages in population appropriate communication. Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment. Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient. Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary. Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems. Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately. Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms. Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely. Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.

Cleans all equipment used daily during patient care, including weights, swiss balls, modalities and carts, assistive devices, nautilus machines and cardiovascular equipment. Completes bi weekly cleaning of hot pack/cold pack machines, paraffin bath, nautilus machines and hot pack covers. Informs supervisor of malfunctioning/defective equipment and calls bioengineering for repair as directed. Ensures malfunctioning/defective equipment is out of treatment areas and labeled to prevent use in patient care. Issues wheelchairs and cushions to newly
