Robert Half Payroll Manager in Brecksville, Ohio

Description

We are searching for a skillful direct hire Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director to join our client out of Brecksville, Ohio. The selected candidate will be overseeing union construction payroll, managing a team, and ensuring the smooth running of the entire payroll process. This role also involves managing quarterly payroll taxes, annual benefits elections, payroll deductions, and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise union construction payroll operations

• Manage a small team, ensuring all payroll tasks are executed accurately and timely

• Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring all payments are made on schedule

• Manage quarterly payroll taxes across multiple states and handle payroll audits

• Oversee annual benefit elections and payroll deductions

• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

• Ensure accurate weekly payroll processing for a large number of employees

• Handle the entry and review of per diem and travel pay

• Provide necessary support to the Payroll Manager

• Utilize mid-level Excel skills and Spectrum – ViewPoint Construction software for various tasks

Skills:

• Proficiency in Payroll - Union

• Strong supervisory management skills a plus

• Knowledge and experience in handling Payroll Taxes.

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in payroll management, specifically with unions

• Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the payroll function

• Proficient in handling payroll taxes and related compliance requirements

• Advanced knowledge of payroll systems and software

• Excellent leadership and team management skills

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information

• Professional certification in payroll management will be an added advantage

• Familiarity with the construction/contractor industry is a plus

• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and changes in payroll regulations.
