Responsibilities

The WellStar Professional Development Unit is hiring a Clinical Onboarding Consultant to join its team. The Clinical Onboarding Consultant is a registered professional nurse who functions under the direction of the Manager of Onboarding. This nurse, through academic preparation, possesses advanced clinical expertise and utilizes this expertise to assist with the assessment and coordination of initial onboarding of all clinical staff at WellStar Health System. This role will assess learning needs, develop and execute programs, as needed, and evaluating the effectiveness of those efforts and utilizes the ADDIE framework (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This role serves as a resource to leaders and clinical staff and is responsible for clinical orientation content for clinical onboarding related to engagement, retention, and competency of new clinical staff. The job is responsible for assessing learning needs related to onboarding, developing and analyzing onboarding program curriculum, and identifying and monitoring onboarding outcomes. Actively supports WellStar in achieving its mission and goals, fosters communication and collaboration with members of the healthcare team, and achieves outcomes

related to increasing clinical staff competency and ensuring adequate competency levels of all clinical staff.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education : Master’s Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in specialty

Required Minimum Education : Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia; national certification in nursing professional development preferred.

Required Minimum Experienc e: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience. 3 or more years of experience in training, education. Knowledge of adult learning theory, quality improvement models.

Required Minimum Skills : Training in education strongly preferred. Knowledge of adult learning theory, quality improvement models. Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support learning and holds basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required; Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner; Possess excellent time management skills; possess a strong understanding of learning adult learning theories and can utilize multi-methods to implement training/development.

Exhibits evidence of evolving leadership in not only their educational initiatives but in their leadership skills through one or more of the following:

1) Trains and serves as a preceptor/mentor for new educators; as member of local governance or committee

structures;

2) Actively involved in performance improvement projects in their unit/department;

3) Conducts baseline research on educational programs and shares in public forums such as publications,conferences, etc.

4) Models education programs on Evidence Based Practice and conducts evaluations.
