Trinity Health Physical Therapist Assistant - Outpatient Rehab, $7500 sign-on bonus in Athens, Georgia

Description:

To provide physical therapy treatment to patients under the direction of a Physical Therapist; referred by a licensed physician in accordance with the Practice Act for the State of Georgia, and the Guidelines for Professional Conduct of the American Physical Therapy Association. To document care given and the patient’s response to treatment. To restore the patient to the highest possible functional level.

Position Requirements :

Licensure/Certification/Registration : The Physical Therapist Assistant must be licensed to practice by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy.

Education: The Physical Therapist Assistant must be a graduate of an APTA accredited physical therapist assistant program

Experience: Physical Therapist Assistants should have as a minimum, broad experience in a variety of different clinical settings through their APTA or other accredited clinical internship programs.

Special Qualifications: Must have a working knowledge of the principles and practices of Physical Therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, modality applications, and all manner of therapeutic exercise and patient mobility treatments. Should also be knowledgeable of required documentation and billing that satisfies the Georgia State practice act, JCAHO requirements, and meets the requirements of Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurers.

Must be able to provide and coordinate therapy treatments with other therapy providers under the supervision Physical Therapists (PT’s) most notably Occupational Therapists (OTR’s), and Speech Therapists (SLP’s). Must be able to work collaboratively with all other members of the St. Mary's Health Care System, including nurses, physicians, and hospital personnel. Must be able to deal constructively with conflict; collect, analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources and take appropriate action. Must be able to relate to physician referral sources and demonstrate excellent customer service. Must be willing and able to participate in clinical quality measurement and performance improvement programs as requested, and be in compliance with all of St. Mary's Health Care System policies and procedures.
