What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?

Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist Position

As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you are accountable for the daily processing and verifying invoices and other payments. You are someone who is reliable; detail oriented, well organized and has an accounts payable background and experience. As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you provide back-up to other members of the team and perform some administrative tasks with AP invoices, vendor inquiries, and AP file maintenance.

What You Get to Do:

  • Verify approvals and accuracy of invoice data entry and supporting information processed through the Accounts Payable System.

  • Analyze and code invoices to proper accounts, and accrue sales/uses taxes subject to state and local tax regulations.

  • Prepare manual invoices in the Oracle payables system.

  • Prepare adjusting journal entries for changes/corrections in the Oracle General Ledger system.

  • Provide customer support to employees and vendors on invoice queries, payment status, and other AP-related inquiries.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) from an accredited education institution.

  • Ideally, 3+ years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.

  • Accounts Payable experience and background.

  • General administrative knowledge and skills.

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively, communicate with others verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork.

  • Computer skills with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.

  • Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.

  • Self-motivated, have a phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.

  • Accounting coursework in high school or college is preferred.

  • Oracle R12 or 11i experience in the AP Module.

  • Oracle experience.
